Terriers Round Up, SRs Now 13-1
Submitted By Dan Thompson on Monday, June 3, 2019
The 15u Terriers played host to the Windsor Selects this past weekend at Kings Collegiate in Oakville.  Game one Saturday was a 5-4 Windsor‎ extra inning win, while game two was rained out.

Sunday morning was a nine inning affair with the Terriers coming out on the winning end of a 5-3 game.

Windsor lead 3-2 into the eighth, but the Terriers struck for three in the bottom half of the inning to make it 5-3.

Andrew Johnston had the game tying RBI while Hugh Pinkney scored the game winning run. Hugh had three hits in this one. ‎

Game two was a 5-1 Terrier victory. Here's how the offense looked in the win...

Owen Sartor had a double and two runs scored.

Hugh Pinkney stayed hot with a single, a double, two RBI and a run scored.

Andrew Johnston had a single, two RBI and a run scored while Jack Duggan notched a single and a double.

Sebastian Mizner was outstanding on the mound, going the distance with a 79 pitch effort. He struck out four and allowed just three hits.

The 15u Terriers are 13-2.

The 18u Terriers faced off against the Ontario Royals on Saturday.

Lefty Campbell Ellis went five innings in a 10-0 win.

The big blow offensively came off the bat of Elijha Hammill, a three run bomb to right.

Game two was a wild 11-10 Terrier win.

Dante Wright had a homer, and for the second consecutive weekend Brendan McQuinn launched another home run, this one a three run shot to center field.‎

Ethan Sanasie- Edwards also had a good day at the plate chipping in with three hits. ‎

In game one Sunday afternoon the hero was Jamal Armstrong.

With the game tied 2-2 in the bottom of the seventh Jamal stepped in and hit a towering homer to right for the walk off 3-2 victory.

Michael Manning fired five innings of no hit ball before handing it off to Andrew Haynes in the sixth.

Sam Worthen would get credit for the win as he pitched a scoreless top of the seventh. ‎

The Terriers completed the weekend sweep with a 15-5  win in game four.

The Royals took an early 2-0 lead in the top of the second but it was short lived as the Terriers would get two of their own in the bottom half of the inning.

With one out Christian Bottero rocked a single to left then scampered to third on a Sanasie- Edwards double into the right field corner.

Both would eventually score on Jamal Armstrong's RBI double that ricocheted off the wall in right. 2-2 after two.  ‎

The Royals went back in front by a 4-2 margin in the third however the Terriers would answer again, this time with four in the bottom half of the inning.

With the score 6-5 Terriers in the fourth Jordan Howse was summoned from the bullpen to face a bases loaded no out jam. The slick lefty would strike out the side to get out of the inning unscathed. ‎

The Terriers put the game away in the fifth with a seven run rally. It was highlighted by an Austin Gomm three run homer that made the score 13-5.

Christian Bottero and Ethan Sanasie- Edwards plated runs in the Terriers sixth to end the game with a 15-5 final.

The SRs host Windsor next weekend.
