Nine Terriers to Compete at CPBL Showcase Event
This past week 400 + players from across Ontario worked out in front of over a dozen MLB Scouts in hopes of landing a roster spot‎ in the upcoming CPBL Showcase later this month.

Congratulations to LHP Jordan Woods, LHP Rhys Montgomery, RHP Matt Brown, C Colin Cymbalista, INF/RHP Dylan Oborne, OF Cameron Chee-Aloy, INF Elijha Hammill, Andrius Jurenas OF and OF/LHP Andre Wojtarowicz.

They were 9 of the 48 selected to participate at this inaugural event taking place the weekend of September 25, 26 and 27.

‎These games are a great league initiative in a year where there will be no T12.

It is the CPBL's first joint venture among all eleven programs and will feature the province's top 2021 and 2022 prospects as selected by the pro scouts that were in attendance at the tryouts.

6' 2" Jordan Woods possesses a heavy mid eighties FB but his wipe out pitch is a very advanced breaking ball that results in a lot of swing and misses.

6'5" Rhys Montgomery throws down hill, ties hitters in knots, and produces soft contact with his blend of three pitches.

‎6'3" RHP Matt Brown ramps his fast ball up into the upper 80's and routinely gets ground ball outs with his change-up.

Catcher Colin Cymbalista is quick twitch behind the plate, has a plus accurate arm and hits the ball for average and power to all fields.

Dylan Oborne is a strong corner infielder who consistently hits the ball with authority. ‎On the mound he has been clocked at 88 mph.

Cameron Chee-Aloy‎ is a toolsy center fielder with an electric arm. He smacks the ball all over the park and runs a 6.69 sixty.

Elijha Hammill can play anywhere on the infield, switch hits, has committed to Utah in the PAC-12 and has represented Canada at the 18u World Championships.

6'4" Andrius Jurenas is an
outfielder with an accurate arm who flashes power at the plate. ‎He is also a sub seven runner.

6'3" Andre Wojtarowicz‎ has been clocked at 92 mph from right field, is a tough out at the plate and throws in the mid 80's off the mound.

Honorable mention goes to catcher Andrew Johnston who was listed as an alternate. Andrew is a physical presence with a big bat that produces power to all fields.

Best of luck to all at the CPBL Showcase.
