College Round Up... Alum Staking Their Claim Early
Terrier alumni are making their mark early on in the 2021 college baseball season.

About half of all college teams are a couple of weeks into their respective seasons while more will kick into gear this week and next. 

Daniel Freeman of the Cornerstone University Golden Eagles certainly got his college career off to an amazing start.  In his debut at bat he tripled and then in extra innings drove in the game winning run for a 7-6 win over Saint Xavier. The Golden Eagles are 5-3 and Daniel is hitting .313 with a .731 OPS.

 

The Michigan Wolverines are 4-1. Lefthander, Connor O'Halloran got his first NCAA D1‎ appearance in a 7-0 victory over Iowa. Connor fanned two in 2IP. The Wolverines are currently ranked #22 in the nation. 

 

Sam Turcotte had another outstanding start Friday night in a 4-3 Seawolves win versus Central Connecticut State.

Sam fired 6.2 innings, scattered four hits and struck out nine. In 17.1 IP this year Sam has a 1.56 ERA. 

 

Righthander, Ben Abram has logged 8.1 innings for the 6-6 Oklahoma Sooners. He has eight strikeouts and opponents are hitting just .267

 

Freshman lefty Campbell Ellis got his first taste of NCAA D1 action this past week for 7-6 VCU. Campbell threw 2.2 innings, allowed three hits and struck out one. The Rams took down #18 Virginia Tech by a 10-7 score earlier in the week.
